The convenience kits include a point-to-point wireless Ethernet system along with an encoder and decoder kit for transmission of up to 4 Miles.
WES Point to Point (PtP)
The Point-to-Point (PtP) Wireless Ethernet System (WESII) is a wireless transmission system that operates in the license free 5 GHz band. The system is designed as a plug and play 10/100 CAT5/Ethernet cable replacement device. A secure encryption method is used to prevent unauthorized access to the system.
The WES modules transmit bi-directional data at up to 20+ Mbps in standard mode and up to 50+ Mbps in turbo mode. The WES provides connectivity for IP devices such as: IP cameras, DVRs, encoder/decoders and web servers.
IP Encoder
The Encoder (ENC-A) is a high resolution, IP Ethernet (LAN/WAN) ready digital video server/encoder. Encode video and data from a new or existing analog camera to MPEG-4 digital video for streaming over a wired or wireless network. Specifically designed to meet the increasing need for high quality, reliable, real-time video applications, the Encoder is ideal for retrofit or new video surveillance applications.
For ultimate flexibility, an encoder may be connected via a Wireless Ethernet System (or network of Mesh nodes) in camera locations where it is not feasible to run wire. For end-to-end analog connectivity, use the Encoder (ENC-A) with a Decoder (DEC-A).
IP Decoder
The Decoder (DEC-A) is a high-resolution, IP Ethernet-ready (LAN/WAN), digital video decoder. The unit enables D1 digital video to be decoded from an encoder (ENC-A) for display on an analog monitor/DVR. Specifically designed to meet the increasing need for high quality, reliable, real-time video applications, the decoder is ideal for retrofit and for new video surveillance applications.
For ultimate flexibility in camera locations where it is not feasible to run cable, the decoders can be connected via a Wireless Ethernet System (or network of Mesh nodes). For end-to-end analog connectivity, the Decoder (DEC-A) should be used with a Encoder (ENC-A).

Click HERE for a KBC Networks chart of the Fresnel Zone. This chart will show you the required Fresnel Zone Diameter at specific distances. Example: The Fresnel Zone diameter at 4 miles is 60 feet, so you would be required to have your antenna mid-point at a minimum of 30 feet off the ground.
